Port St Lucie, FL

We have left our beautiful campground in Miami’s agricultural paradise and have set up camp in Port St Lucie.  The campgrounds are like Yin and Yang.  At first I was disappointed but I decided to find the blessings and as always, when we look for the blessings, they are always there.

It is true that what we focus our attention on, good or bad, is what we attract more of in our lives.  When we stop seeing what is wrong, in our present or our past, and count our blessings, we receive more of the same.

I would like to say this happens I always see the good, but sometimes I have to find myself drowning in the negative before I look for the positive.  I have so much to be grateful for.  Most of us do.  Even our problems are often small when compared to others.  Imagine how wonderful life would be if we no longer complained, or criticized, or were filled with self-pity.  We might actually live a life that was happy, joyous and filled with contentment.

I love this quote by the Buddha because it reminds me to find the good in every situation.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if few didn’t learn a little, at least we did not get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so. Let us all be thankful.”  Buddha
