Midweek Message
The journey begins!
Today we are in High Falls State Park in Jackson, Georgia. We are here before we go to Florida because my granddaughter, in Atlanta, is in a school play and I had promised her months ago, I would attend. Of course, that was before my life took a turn into a new direction.
As much as I would like to be in Florida right now, because of the cold weather, I had made a commitment. What is a commitment? A commitment is doing what we said we would do. It is a pledge, vow, obligation, assurance and guarantee that we will do what we say we will do.
Years ago I was not very good at commitments. If I made a promise it really meant nothing. But as a result of having a psychic change 24 years ago, I began to understand that living up to what we say is a sign of integrity and a natural component of where we are spiritually.
When we say something and then do something else, we are not only hurting the individual to whom we made the promise, but to ourselves, as well. Being in integrity with others as well as ourselves is important if we are to be someone who can be trusted.
What we do and say to others directly affects our consciousness and, therefore, our lives. If we cannot be sure that we can hold to a commitment, we should not make one. It is better to not make a promise than to break one.
