Midweek Message – June 2, 2013
How often do we say something and afterward realize the statement was something negative? It is so easy to let those words slip from our mouth. If we thought about it we would realize that we are verbalizing the negative thoughts that often go through our minds.
As a child, I was told that I was stupid. When I make a mistake, I often find myself saying something, life “I can’t believe I did something that stupid”. Or “I am so stupid”. The difference today, is that as soon as it comes out, I realize what I have said.
Our words are a reflection of who we are and what we believe. It is important that we watch not only our thoughts but also our words so that they are positive, life affirming words.
Quote of the Week
“We cannot always control our thoughts, but we can control our words, and repetition impresses the subconscious, and we are then master of the situation.”
