MIDWEEK MESSAGE
February 5, 2014

Here in Savannah the weather has been interesting. Freezing cold followed by balmy spring weather! The change in the weather is a reminder to us that it is important to be flexible in life because life is always changing.

When we are inflexible, we cause ourselves much pain and sorrow. Too often as we try to keep the world the way we want it, or make people do the things we want, or try to live without any surprises, not only do we frustrate ourselves but we also cause ourselves the stress of trying to always be in control.

No matter what we do, no matter how much we want things to be a certain way, issues will happen to us. Some of it will be good and some not so good. When we are more flexible, we find we are happier, we have a more positive attitude, and we are easier to be with. When we are flexible, we know how to go with the flow. But most importantly, we can handle whatever life brings us.

Being flexible allows us to live a life of joy and appreciation for whatever we are given. That is the real gift!

Quote of the Week

“I am a man of fixed and unbending principles, the first of which is to be flexible at all times.” Everett Dirksen
