MIDWEEK MESSAGE – April 16, 2025

I spent this past weekend in Greenville, SC, visiting my grandson, who is attending college there.  I love the South in the spring!  It is a time of new life, filling the landscape with bright green leaves, flowering trees and plants, and a blue sky (most of the time) that signifies winter is over (at least in the South!). It is as if the entire planet has awakened from a long winter’s sleep, revealing its true nature.

Spring reminds us that even when we cannot see green leaves, colorful flowers, and the magic of life, it is there in winter.

So, too, with us humans, sometimes we cannot see the grace of Spirit in someone (or at times within ourselves), but it is always there, lying dormant until we decide to connect with our Higher Self within. This connection results in our true nature bursting forth or becoming aware of the light in others.

If you are not feeling alive with The Spirit at this point in your life, it may be time to take the necessary actions to bring it forth.  Nature needs the sun’s warmth, the rain’s moisture, and longer days to bring forth the wonder of spring.

We also need to awaken ourselves by nurturing it through prayer and meditation (connecting with the sunlight of Spirit), spending time outdoors appreciating the beauty surrounding us, letting go of any negativity we may be holding onto, serving God and others, and practicing forgiveness, gratitude, and loving-kindness.

So, no matter the weather where you are, remember that without the dark of winter, spring would not appear so beautiful. How you navigate life’s challenges determines how bright our blessings appear.

Quote of the Week

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant.”
