MIDWEEK MESSAGE – October 30, 2024
I love movies, especially those about everyday people overcoming challenges to succeed. These heroes make me believe I, too, can overcome life’s challenges—big or small.
I am grateful to have been blessed with people who have shown me what a true hero looks like. They have gone through difficulties yet do it with dignity and grace. Does this mean they do not shed tears or have doubts? No, it means that they do not let their difficulties keep them from believing in a God that gives them the strength and power to do what by themselves they could not.
Heroes overcome challenges and use their experience, strength, and hope to help others do the same. When life hands me challenging situations, I remember all the heroes in my life. They have shown me that there is nothing that I can’t survive as long as I stay connected to God. When I forget, they remind me of the Truth of God’s Presence, Power, and Love.
I am drawn to hero stories, ones where the hero taps into an inner strength, allowing them to do previously impossible things. They may not want the life struggles given to them, and they may say yes reluctantly, but they do say yes and then step forward – one step at a time, one challenge at a time, one day at a time.
Today, take time to be grateful for the heroes in your life – the ones who show you that whatever life may bring us, God is more significant than any challenge, and through God, we will receive the strength, faith, and courage we need.
I know I would not be who I am now if it weren’t for the heroes in my life, and so to all of you – thank you!
Quote of the Week
“Every time you are willing to say “Yes” to everything on your path, you express the hero inside you.”
