MIDWEEK MESSAGE – November 17, 2021

November is considered a month of gratitude but in reality, every day should be a day of gratitude. Unfortunately, we often overlook what we are grateful for and concentrate on the negative. However, it is the blessings in our lives, both big and small, that truly make this life worth living.

This past weekend I got to spend some time emerged in gratitude for the people in my life that I am so grateful for, even if they are far from me geographically. The interesting thing is that it wasn’t about what we were doing, just being together filled me with gratitude for the relationships.

One of them was a relationship that had been a challenge in the past, but because of a program that teaches me how to be in relationships and how to heal them, is one I now cherish.

Someone once told me that intimacy meant “into me see”. Spending time with a person you trust enough to let them see “into” you is a precious gift that can’t help but fill me with gratitude.

The primary characteristic of true gratitude is that the feeling lasts long after the time spent together is gone.

There are many things in life to be grateful for but this week take time to be grateful for those people who have touched your heart and soul and who will always be a part of you wherever you may go.

Even better, express your gratitude by letting three people you know to be aware of how grateful you are to have them in your life. It will not just lift their spirit but yours as well.

Quote of the Week

“At times, our light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
Albert Schweitzer
