MIDWEEK MESSAGE – November 10, 2021

Have you adjusted to the time change yet? Some people adjust better than others. It often depends on how much we live our lives based on the clock.

The whole concept of time is elusive. It seems to go by quicker as we get older, slows down if we are waiting. if you have insomnia – it seems to last forever, yet when we are on vacation in a place we want to be, it seems to go by in a wink of an eye.

However, it is not time that changes but our perception of time. The only time that never changes is now. When we are in the now, “moment”, without past or future, our world is timeless.

There are no clocks that run the Universe. The more time we spend in meditation and practicing mindfulness, the more serenity we experience. Conversely, the more time we spend worrying about the future, the more we live life, not only anxious, but filled with fear about the “what if’s”.

No one can see the future and we cannot change the past. Therefore living in either is an of futility and one that will never bring us peace and an awareness of God. God, like our breath, can only be experienced in the present.

So let go of the past – what was, is. We release our concerns of what is to come by tuning over the fears to God. We let go, and let God, trusting that, in the end, God’s will for us is always for our highest and best good.

That is what I believe and it allows me to walk through the challenges of life when I do not think I can, to do things that seem impossible, and to not lose my faith.

Quote of the Week

“The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green Earth in the present moment, to appreciate the Peace and Beauty that are available now.”
Thich Nhat Hanh.
