MIDWEEK MESSAGE – My 10, 2023

I have traveled a great deal across the US and Canada, and the beauty of this country never ceases to amaze me. I love the thought of traveling to exotic foreign places, but for the natural beauty and vastness, it is hard to beat this country we live in.

I was traveling from Arizona to Utah and drove through the Virgin River Canyon, and it took my breath away. There I was, driving through solid rock walls on both sides, and the formations were inspiring. Then I went to Zion National Park in Utah, and once again, I could not help but be in awe of what was created out of the destruction many years ago.

It is true of life as well. So often, it isn’t until our world is torn apart, that we create new life experiences. We may not like the destruction part, but the most amazing opportunities come from it.

We have all heard the expression, “making lemonade out of lemons.” We create sweetness in our world out of sour things. So the next time we spend time on what is wrong with our life, look for the beauty, the grace, and the opportunities that can arise from challenging times.

Quote of the Week

“It is worth remembering that the time of greatest gain in terms of wisdom and inner strength is often that of greatest difficulty.”
