MIDWEEK MESSAGE – May 28, 2025
At the end of each day, do you take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments or express gratitude for your experiences throughout the day? Some days, when my to-do list is long, I feel proud if I’ve crossed everything off as complete.
However, the days that feel most productive are also the days I often spend less time savoring the moment and its gifts. As we age, it seems time moves faster. The time between one birthday and the next feels as if it passes overnight.
Each night, I create a list of 10 things I’m grateful for, but often, many of those items reflect my actions rather than what I have experienced or felt.
Since we only have one life in this bodily experience, I believe it’s essential to take time to be present, to experience the Presence, and to appreciate all the beauty and gifts around us. Tonight, I want to reflect on my experiences and the true gifts of the day.
To do that, I know I need to be present in the moment rather than dwell on the past or worry about the future. As my therapist used to tell me, I need to be mindful of the moment. For the now is all we truly have, and it is only in the now that we can experience God.
Quote of the Week
“Stop measuring days by degree of productivity and start experiencing them by degree of presence.[Presence].” Alan Watts
