MIDWEEK MESSAGE – May 27, 2020

There was a post some time ago on Facebook that said, “Spirituality must be lived, not just studied. All the books in the world will not help us if we do not live what we have learned.” That is so true and is similar to a saying in 12 Step programs – “Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk.”

The question we need to be asking ourselves every day is “Are we living the spiritual principles we say we believe or not? If not, why not?” I read something the other day and it said that we should make “honesty, tolerance, and true love of man and God the daily basis of living.” If we were to do that and to truly make that a part of our daily basis for living, we would be “putting feet” on the principles we say we believe.

If all we do is study spirituality, and don’t practice the principles in our life, we are shortchanging ourselves and denying ourselves all the joy, love, peace, forgiveness, and compassion that comes from truly living what we believe in.

Quote of the Week
