MIDWEEK MESSAGE – March 19, 2025

Home! After an amazing three weeks of traveling, I am home—a bit jet-lagged, tired, and filled with emotions.

It feels wonderful to be back home in familiar surroundings, in my bed and room. London and Amsterdam were amazing, but I still love Paris the most and miss being there.

These mixed feelings reflect much about life—a blend of sometimes conflicting emotions, with some being stronger than others at different times. If you’ve ever watched one of the “Inside Out” animated films, you see our emotions, each trying to take control of our lives, often triggered by external events. The movies are quite humorous but don’t always feel funny, especially when certain emotions dominate our experiences.

That is, unless we don’t take ourselves or what happens in life too seriously. Yes, serious things happen, but most are trivial unless we make them otherwise. Life is easier if we try to find the humor in it and wear life “like a loose garment.”

If we can achieve this, we can explore whichever emotion prevails in our being at any moment and smile—because feelings and emotions indicate that we are conscious and aware, which means we are alive.

Quote of the Week

“Instead of resisting any emotion, the best way to dispel it is to enter it fully, embrace it and see through your resistance.”
