MIDWEEK MESSAGE – June 2 2021

For some of us, summer begins with Memorial Day while others see the Summer Solstice as the official beginning go summer. Whichever group you find yourself in, there is something about June that says summer is here!

Summer! The word makes us smile. It brings images of ice cream, swimming pools, and beaches, not to mention long days and short nights. More time to enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer us. It is no wonder we associate it with feeling happy, carefree, and young. It is also good for health because we get more vitamin D and we tend to eat more fresh foods especially fruits and vegetables.

Summer brings out our inner child and children have a natural faith, hope, and wonder that we all can use. Such things bring us closer to God because children have that inner joy that can make our imagination find fun and joy in the simplest things in life.

So, here’s to summer – after last summer with the confines it brought, may this summer bring out the child in all of us.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explode, and every sunset is different.”
John Steinbeck
