MIDWEEK MESSAGE – July 14, 2021

Summer is here, things are slowly coming back to a new normal – but for many who live in certain parts of the country, it can also bring storms, tornados, and fires that challenge us to our very core.

What can we do when life hands us situations which try our patience and test our faith? We can let it take over our whole being, or we can do the things that lift our spirit and strengthen our faith. What are those things?

For each of us, they are different. The important thing is that we have an arsenal of things to do that lift our spirit and help us through the challenges of life. For me they include listening to music that uplifts my being, being outside, being near the ocean, and connecting with people who love and support me. Having people who help us remember to find gratitude in whatever, to remember we are not alone because God is always within us and It is good.

Having such an arsenal may not keep the storms from coming, but they will give us the resilience to weather them and come out with deeper faith and a stronger spirit.

Quote of the Week

“Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you’ve lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that’s good.”
