MIDWEEK MESSAGE – January 20, 2021

I recently drove from Southern California to Tucson, Arizona – across some beautiful country. In a period of hours, I drove along the ocean, through the desert and then into the mountains and back to the desert.

Being a water person, I could never imagine why people lived in the desert. My opinion of the desert changed when I drove our motorhome across Death Valley.
It was so beautiful, I realized that even though it might seem like it was void of life, there is much life and color if one only looks beyond first appearances. God created the desert as well as the plush forests and vast oceans – and nothing was created by mistake, in spite of what we might think.

The same is true in our lives. There may be times when things appear bleak, devoid of life or beauty. That is when we must look at it with our inner eye and our heart so that we can see the good. Only when we look at things with a positive attitude can we travel through those times with joy and hope.

That is when we can really appreciate all of Spirit’s Gifts to us. That is gratitude in the true sense of the word.

Quote of the Week
