MIDWEEK MESSAGE – February 27, 2025

This week’s message is a bit late as I am writing this from Paris! I have been traveling and catching up to a new time zone and some well needed sleep.

It is great being back in this beautiful city and this neighborhood which feels like home away from home.  I have been to Paris in the summer, early fall, late fall, and now during winter. Whatever season I have been here, it hasn’t lost its charm.

Having been living through a very cold winter in Connecticut (and survived to talk about it), fear of what the weather will be has lost its hold on me.  Weather is what it is, just like so much of life.

There is an expression to “live life like a loose garment”.  You know how that feels, relaxed and comfortable as opposed to how it feels restricted and uncomfortable when we are always looking back at the past or worrying about what the future holds for us.  In other words, living in the moment.

As much as I was looking forward to this trip, I also really enjoyed the days in preparing for it.  It is one of my favorite parts of travel is the days leading to the trip itself. The only real joy we can have is the moment we are in.

Quote of the Week

“’What day is it?’ asked Pooh. ‘It’s today,’ squeaked Piglet.  ‘My favorite day,’ said Pooh.”
