MIDWEEK MESSAGE – December 11, 2019

‘Tis the season of Peace, but with all the parties, shopping, wrapping, traveling, etc. – it is often anything but peaceful.

Peace is not just about controlling your environment or the world so nothing disturbs your peace. It’s all about the peace within.

Jesus is often referred to as the Prince of Peace and in John 14:27 he says: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you. Not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

In this famous verse, Jesus is saying that we cannot get the peace we seek from the world – in other words, when everything is ok within our life, then we will have peace. Peace is an inside job so no matter how crazy things are this holiday season, find time to find the peace that is always deep within us.

When things around you are hectic, sit still, close your eyes, and slowly repeat over and over, “Peace…be still.” This may take five minutes…maybe twenty, but have patience and the peace you seek will appear like magic and you’ll wonder why you don’t do this every day,

Quote of the Week
