MIDWEEK MESSAGE – August 5, 2020

Are you living your life fully?

Life is a gift from God that we often take for granted. Especially during these times, it is easy to become filled with self-pity, loneliness, fear, and despair. But the fact is that if you are reading this now, you are blessed – no matter what you have or do not have.

Life is a blessing not just during good times, but times that can be challenging. It is time to do like a song from years ago said – “just pick yourself up, dust yourself off” and do something. No matter where you can’t go or who you can’t see, there is still much we can do to feel useful, alive, energized, and aware of the Presence of God within us.

What can you do – how about when you make yourself a meal, make a little more and drop it off at a neighbor’s house; or say something positive about someone on social media (to help offset all the negative stuff), or send letters or emails to people you can’t see and tell them how much you love them and how much they mean to you and your life.

Or use this time to begin to eat right, exercise more (use videos, walk, bike ride, etc.). Find ways to boost your immune system so you have a better chance to fight off the virus rather than living in fear of getting “it”.

When we feel better about our health and when we are of service, the combination is like a powerhouse vaccine that allows us to live life and “live it more abundantly”. Try it – you have nothing to lose but your misery.

Quote of the Week

“I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!”
2 Corinthians 6:12-13
