MIDWEEK MESSAGE – August 31, 2022

One of the biggest fears for many people is the fear of financial insecurity. I have experienced it for myself many times, and only by working through it with the help of Spirit do I ever feel secure financially.

What I know is that the extent of the fear is not as dependent on the amount of money I have but on the current state of my consciousness regarding financial security.

When I am firm in my faith that God is my Source and come from a consciousness of knowing that and taking action from that consciousness, I feel secure in the area of finances. When I forget that –because I let outside sources convince me that financial security is about money and not consciousness – I fall into the trap of economic insecurity.

I know someone who inherited a large sum of money (millions). Most people would think, “if I had that much money, I would undoubtedly feel secure financially .”Still, my friend is insecure and spends most of his time looking at his portfolio and worrying about it.

Michael Todd, a famous theater and film producer, once said that he “had been broke many times but was never poor .”When we say we are broke, we are stating a fact based on our current financial situation, i.e., we are temporarily short of funds. When we say we are poor, we are expressing a state of consciousness – one of lack and limitation.

How do we change this? Whenever we express negative words about our financial situation, change them to positive, affirming words. What we speak affects what we think and what we think affects what we believe. Is this easy? No. However, it is the key to being happy and secure in life, no matter what is happening around us.

Quote of the Week

“Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying, can add a single hour to his life?”
Luke 12:25-27
