MIDWEEK MESSAGE
I love fall. It is my favorite season, although as a child, it was probably one of my least favorite. When I was young, fall marked the beginning of school and the end of summer fun.
Today, I see the beauty in the fall. Wherever I’ve lived, I’ve appreciated all that fall offers.
This year, I am living in New England, the most beautiful place to experience fall. The trees are amazing, and the air is crisp and cooler, yet the days are warm enough to enjoy being outside.
Fall, like all the seasons, is about change. There are so many changes in this world that we have no control over. We cannot control the weather, we cannot control whether it’s a good fall color-wise, and we cannot control what other people say or think. So, what can we control?
We can change our thoughts, words, and actions, which make us who we are. If you are unhappy or your world is not as you want it to be, stop looking outside and look within; ask yourself what you are thinking, doing, and expressing.
Do you see the glass half full or half empty? Do you see only the problems, or do you see the blessings? Do you take time daily to be grateful for the big and little things?
As we enjoy the change of colors, temperature, and season, let’s think about the changes within us that need to be made. That way, we can truly experience the happiness that can only come from within.
Quote of the Week
“The most powerful thing you can do to change the world, is to change your own beliefs about the nature of life, people, reality, to something more positive…and begin to act accordingly.”
